Established in 1871 and named after the Balasun river flowing through its base. Located in Sonada, north Kurseong at 365–1375 m elevation across 181 hectares. Tea composition is 51% pure China, 40% hybrid Assam, and 9% Darjeeling clonal. Owned by Jay Shree Tea Company since 2005.
