Coffee Farm

Koraput Coffees (Madhu Agro Plantation)

Koraput, Odisha · 900m

Koraput District, Odisha

A 45-acre plantation in the Eastern Ghats of Koraput, Odisha, founded in 1996 and now run by mother-daughter duo Nirmala and Rajeshwari Reddy. What began as a post-retirement nature project for Nirmala's husband has grown into a thriving intercropped farm, with Arabica coffee growing alongside cinnamon, bay leaf, ginger, pepper, jamun, jackfruit, bananas, and over a dozen other fruits. The farm survived devastating losses from Cyclone Hudhud in 2014 and the passing of its founder, and has since been rebuilt by the two women into a showcase of resilience and sustainable agroforestry in one of India's most biodiverse tribal regions.
