Founded in 1867 by German missionaries J.A. and F.J. Wernicke. 'Lingia' is Lepcha for 'triangle of 8 peaks'. Pure China cultivar on 141 of 220 total hectares at 3000–6000 ft. Famed for a unique natural rose flavour unreplicable elsewhere in Darjeeling. Taken over by Chamong Group in 2001. Certified 100% bio-organic with USDA, NPOP, JAS, HACCP and Fair Trade accreditations.
